Proactiv will rip you off

I ordered proactiv solution to treat acne problem for my daughter and paid $19.95. The product did not work as advertised. A month later, Proactiv shipped me another package which I did not order, then charge my bank account for $27.94. I called the customer service and was told that, the time I bought the product, I agreed to be enrolled in 90 days shippement package; that because I did not call before 30-days trial, they have to ship another package to me. I refuse their these and wanted my money back. The agree to reund my bank account after I return the packgae back to them. I told them that I will file a consumer complaint because the 30-day enrollement was not part of their commercial-tv -ad. Later I called my bank to dispute the charge. Be aware that Proactiv is a rip-off company. Please stay away from that company. I will keep you posted of the developement. Evado

Continues to Charge My Credit Card for trial supply

PONZIE SCHEME BEWARE, KEEPS CHARGING CREDIT CARD!!!! Ordered 19.95 30 trial supply for my daughter online. Gave credit card--BIG MISTAKE-- Next month they charged 27.95, the next 19.95 and now being told I will have additional charge of 19.95. I have not recieved anything other than the 30 day supply. *** didn't work anyway, to send it back and get refund it will take 6-8 weeks. In the meantime I cancelled the account that I didn't even know I had. This is nothing more than a PONZIE SCHEME!!!! BEWARE YOU WILL BE BILLED EVERY MONTH< WHETHER YOU GET THE STUFF OR NOT>

I wish I had found this site before I ordered! I had the same problem, I ordered the trial supply then like 2 weeks later they bill be again stating that it was the 2nd months supply.

I canceled immediatly because it was drying out my skin and then the next month they billed me again stating that I only complained about the dried out skin but my order was not canceled. Would never recommend this to anyone!

Proactive scammed me for recurring payments

Don't ever order Proactive! When you place your order, be sure to read the agreement. Where normally you might just check the "yes" box that you've read the terms and conditions, be sure to READ IT!

They scam you for automatic recurring payments and conveniently forget to mention that part. They sent a second shipment that is billed over a three month period for a total of $99.00. I tried to cancell my account in May when I saw that I was billed for the second shipment that conveniently had already been shipped.

I was told my account was cancelled. So in June I saw another charge on my account from Proactive. Apparently, the last shipment was billed over a ninety day period. Again, when my account was supposedly cancelled, they neglected to tell me I would see another bill in a month.

So, bottom line, do NOT accept the second shipment just to avoid the hassle of returning it!!!!!! When I asked if I could return the unopened product they had sent in May, they said only if I had the packing slip. THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME A RETURN ADDRESS! I am reporting them to the BBB.

Never ever order from their website, they will automatically sign you up for a recurring membership and will begin shipping you products you never ordered and place unauthorized charges on your credit card...google Proactiv scam

On top of this, with their initial order was a free 30day supply of Vitacare vitamins which they also included in a recurring membership plan!!

Both Proactiv & Vitacare are owned by Guthy Renker, scam, scam, scam.

I fell into this mess and made an online complaint with the BBB and luckily received a full credit card refund, following was their response:

Per the terms of the online offer, your second Proactiv® shipment was sent on October 11, 2012 for a total of $99.84 to be billed in three installments over three consecutive billing cycles. The first payment of $39.94 (included $9.99), was charged at the time of shipping, leaving a balance of $59.90. In an effort to fully resolve this matter, I have issued a refund of $39.94 and cleared the $59.90 balance. This credit will show as two separate transactions, one in the amount of $29.95, and the other for $9.99 (s&h). Please allow 3-5 business days for this credit to post. COMPLETE SCAMMERS! After getting the $20 trial they automatically began sending me the product, but WAY too frequently.

I ate the cost of this and asked them to make it less frequent... A few months later I noticed my account was still being billed at $20 dollars a month... what they were doing was upping the price from $20 to $60 but only billing me $20/month to be sneaky about the huge increase. I called them to cancel and told them about my displeasure.

Not surprising the rep seemed to not care as if he had heard it a thousand times already... DO NOT EVEN TRY THIS PRODUCT!

They did the same thing to me. I grilled the sales rep on the $30 promo and auto-enroll program.

I was told the cost was $30 total....not three $30 installments over 90 days. They are intentionally misleading and there is nothing you can do once you discover the extra bills except cancel the account and eat the money! And when you cancel in anger, they just proceed to tell you how they are there for you and can offer you other products....same scam likely.

The product is ok but business practices and value are a joke. I would have just bought it at the mall if I wanted to pay $100.

They did exactly the same thing to me except, I did not receive any further shipments, just bills. The account is now in collections and I have reported them to the Attorney General for false advertising.

I purchased a tester kit - we tested the product and did not like it.

If the kit was for testing purposes, then the company should have followed up to check if we wanted to purchase more, NOT just send it and request payments - READ: We did not receive any further shipments, only bills. PROACTIV IS A SCAM AND A FRAUD

They did the same thing to me. I called and talked to I can't tell you how many different "customer service reps" in 6 months, each time trying to relay what the one had said to me the month before when they said that the charges to my credit card would be refunded and that I no longer am on this ridiculous monthly auto-pay.

I always make sure to get the names of the ppl I talk to (I've had years of experience dealing with *** unfortunately.) but never made a difference in this situation.

Each time the person said the issue would be taken care of, each time was a fail all the while I am incurring a bigger bill! Proactiv needs to get with it!

i ordered the "Magical" proactive system. What a waste of Money and the misrepresent themselves by saying it is good for very sensitve skin. Big Lie, if you have sensitive skin I urge you NOT to try this product. I got 3rd degree burns on my face and it took a lot of time and money, not to mention the embarassment of having to go around with huge blisters on your face. I had some acne scarring before, now it's even worse with the scarring I got from this JUNK!!! Here is the Cheapest and most effective way to cleanse your face, without irritation, clogged pores or zits. White sugar!!! NO kidding, it exfoliates without irritation or drying out your skin. Try it for a week, you will be surprised, it only cost's $3.00 for a bag of sugar that will last for years.

Unauthorized charges

Why does Proactiv keep getting away with ripping people off with unauthorized charges on creditcards and the orders. They come up with every excuse there is to keep charging you for orders you did not make.

Cant every on see this is the biggest scam ever. This company is worse than Bernie Madoff!!!!!!! Hopefully more people will come foward and the truth about this company will be exposed. They only want your money, tell you what you wanna here and then when you have already placed an order, this is where the problem starts.

They keep shipping you stuff and keep charging your credit card on purchases you did not make.

They tell you, you enrolled in a monthly shipment order when you actually did not. I hope the company goes out of business

i woke up in nov 2012 and a box wqas at my door

i called the company they asked for my account number

i said who are you

they said i had an account in my name and it went on my credit card by email-the email was not mine but they will not tell me whom, i went to the bank dispoutred, called the police

and now they are charging me for another month and i have collection notices

you cannot report to BBB because trhe site does not recognie them

So a few months ago I purchased proactive because my cousin told me it was working for her. So i looked on their website and said I could purchase a trial version for 19.95.

I guess I should have researched further before buying these products! I received my proactive 3 step trial a few weeks after and then only TWO weeks later they charged me again for 27.95 or something like that. I was so mad! I had no idea they would automatically send products.

Its called a TRIAL version for a reason. So today I called the customer care and because I havent received anything 3 weeks later, He told me I should be getting it soon. He was really unprofessional and rude. He kept talking over me and wouldnt let me finish.

and when i kept telling him id like to cancel he still would try to convince me i needed a stronger product. I couldn't believe how rude their representatives are!! So right after, I called my bank and canceled my debit card and getting a new one. Im hoping they dont somehow keep charging me since my card number is different.

they told me that I still owed 40 dollars for the 90 day shipment I had no idea I was getting. Im not paying them 40 more dollars just to not use it and send it back. Im sending it back right when I get it.

I just made my first order today, which I now think was a mistake. I made two orders which totaled $39.90.

I just checked my bank account and it shows that they charged me $47.50 for some reason. After speaking to a rep, she told me there was nothing they could do for me at the moment, as it takes 1-3 days for orders to process in their database.

It's ridiculous as well, but your bank/credit card companywon't do much to help you stop the bogus charges. What you do IS: CALL YOUR BANK/COMPANY AND SAY YOU LOST YOUR CARD.

After you report your card lost/stolen, they will immediately CANCEL that card (and the assigned card #) and reissue you a new card/new card#. This means Proactive CANNOT charge your old card anymore, keeping your account SAFE. NEXT- if you continue to receive packages, mark them REFUSED, and give it back to the post office/postman. It will be returned to Proactive, and this should...SHOULD..

stop the cycle of CRAZY ABUSE from this company. Good luck.

PROACTIVE DOES NOT WORK!!

When i first got Proactive i started to see a difference but after 2 weeks of using Proactive my acne got much worst. my face got more red anything made a scar on my skin. My skin went from bad to worst and the proactive is not working at all but in fear that if i stop using my face will be so much worst. all the false ads on tv are *** and i should have never fallen for this scam. i was better off doing what i was doing before i applied this onto my skin!!! Proactive needs to step up and do the right thing and fix this product or give all the customers money back!!

th reason why ur skin went from bad to worse is because when a product starts working it extracts all the bacteria and dirt from the bottom layer of your skin and this comes out as pimples and all kinds of stuff on the surface of your skin , it will start getting red and eventually the pimples will reduce and ur skin will be clean and as healthy looking as ever.... this happened to me...

PRO ACTIVE-NO CREDIT CARD REQUIRED-RIP OFF

I sent a check for Pro-Active about 2 months ago and have still never gotten my shipment. I was leery about giving my credit card out because previously I have received shipments and then without warning received another just a couple of weeks later-Not enough time to see if the product worked. That is why I took them up on the bill me option-so they would not have my credit card info. Guess they think I am "***" cause I ordered this way. I have called numberous times with the last time having a Rep tell me that he would have his "Supervisor" contact me by phone-Been over a week and still no call. I would never buy anything from this company again. I would like to cancel the order, but it would be more $ to have the check "cancelled" than it is worth.

Fraudulent Business Practices

I have had the same experience as everyone else on this board. They sent me unauthorized product including charging me for gifted products that were part of an original one month free promotion. The only way to address this appropriately is to go directly to the Attorney General's website for IA and file a consumer complaint. The following link will take you to the online form, http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/file_complaint/online_2.html Also, if someone sends you unauthorized product you can keep it at no charge. The company has no authorization to charge your bank account, which is a felony, and you can inform you bank to refund or block any charges from Proactiv Solutions.

Thieves stole out of my account

I was in the process of cancelling my subscription to proactive 1 week before my 30 days were up and realized they had already gone into my account and charged me for the next month. My subscription is for 30 days NOT 23!

What if I didn't have the money in my account to cover this charge? Who would have been responsible for the overdraft fees? Now, I have to wait until I receive the pkg. then send it back and once they receive it I will be refunded the money.

What's up with that?????? It seems that should be against the law.

If I authorize you to go into my acct after 30 days and you do it in 23 and think that's ok something is wrong! smh

Can you prove that you only authorized payments 30 days after the initial order? No?

Then it didn't happen.

Also; they sell monthly supplies. So of course they are going to put your next automatic order in 7 days early.

It could take 7 days to get mailed to you. And if you end up going without the stuff; the acne comes right back in just a couple days (been there, done that)

Beware Proactive billing procedures

I ordered Proactive not realizing I had signed up for automatic shipments and consequent charges to my credit card. I called the company to cancel and discovered a charge to Proactive the following month.

When I contacted customer support they informed me I had two payments left at $19.95. I was not informed of this when I called to cancel the first time.

I was happy with the product but unfortunately will not be using it again due to their predatory billing practices. If you decide to order this product beware of their billing procedures and read the fine print.

Called and canceled our order. After a few weeks we received another shipment and our CC were charged. When I called Pro Active they said their was a note I wanted to cancel but that it wasn't processed. My mom was told the exact story.

Pro Active said to put return to sender on the box and they will refund my card.

My next cc bill I was shorted the refund. When I called Pro Active for the 3RD TIME I was told this was for shipping cost!

I cnt stand this *** *** proactiv solution charged me $80 whn it was arreginally $19.95!!!! I will never go through ths *** again so they can either get my credit and payments right or ill nvr be thier customer again!!!! This statment is completely true and if you want to try it ur self have at it! Customer service needs training

I bought my neice a 30 day supply of proactive in a trial. I had 30 days to cancel. I planned on cancelling it a week before the trial was over. A charge from proactive had already been put on my debit card a week early. I called to cancel and told them a charge was applied to my account sooner that it was supposed to. I told her I wanted it taken off my card. She said the shipment had already been shipped so she couldn't. Told her was shipped a week early and I should be refunded for their error. She told me to call my bank and tell them not to pay it. I then called my bank and found out once it is authorized they have to pay. Said I could file a complaint with them once charge had been posted. When it posted I call my bank to file complaint, at that time the bank called proactiv with me on a conference call and was told that maybe I didn't realize it but it was a recurring charge. I told her it was sent a week early. I hadn't received it yet either. After I argued with her for a few minutes she said she would refund, I will received it in 3-5 business days. Said she will send me affidavit that I will send back the shipment. After 5 days no refund so I called again. Was told after I sent it back a refund will be given. I said no I was told 3-5 days. I haven't received the affidavit yet either. Said he would refund me within 3-5 days. We'll see it they actually do. It's ridiculous they get there money fast but it takes a long time to get a refund. I guess that's how they make money. I will never order from them again for anything. Poorest customer service I have ever seen.

Below is my final exasperated response to Proactiv's Customer Service department. I tried to get something other than a form letter response in the e-mail previous to sending this, but its like one starts all over again with each representative one gets. I am so frustrated that I am paying the $90+ dollars they added well after I had cancelled both the order and the credit card. "If someone were to look at the notes of the last person I talked to, everything was ok and I needed only to send back the form he sent. I did that, and you act as if the discussion never occurred. What is irritating to me is that I have been trying to resolve this since Apr-May. I did not receive a response to my e-mail canceling it at that time because I later found out, "The only way you can cancel is by phone." You only quit sending it because I cancelled my credit card. You choose to make it near impossible to cancel standing orders. You are inconsistent on reponding to requests. You send the stuff to an old address of my daughter's and expected me to still pay for it. It is a horrible customer service model. It smacks of a company that knows it will squeeze extra money out of its customers, then tie up any corrective action to ensure it keeps the money. Were it not for the fact that I recently came out of bankruptcy, I would simply continue to ignore your bills and threats. As it is, a negative report of any amount on my credit report is damaging. I am held hostage to paying a bill for which I don't owe. Never received product

I had ordered Proactiv before Christmas of 2011 and was billed accordingly. I paid for next day shipping and was billed accordingly on that as well. However I was never informed in any way that they were back ordered on the package that I purchased. I had to call them to see what the issue was and was Then informed that "Oh sorry that package is back ordered" so I was left without a Christmas gift (I was moderately pissed at that point). Ok I called again and was told that the package was sent out on Jan 5th of 2012 and here we are again the 10 th and still NOO product. I call and call and am told that they will refund the next day shipping charge (BIG DEAL!!!) but am assured that I will get the product via next day delivery. Still not here. Worse off is that I get billed again for the second time and still no Product. Now I am PISSED

ProActiv - Guthy Renker

I am supposed to get a kit every other month which they religiously charge me for. Now this last They did not mail out my product, yet they did charge me for it -- I told them and they mailed out (snail-mail!) a claim form.

I filled out the claim form so they can investigate and send me my replacement product which I am now completely out of. I have sent it to them 3 times each via email, fax and mail, yet they keep telling me they have not received it and cannot replace my product or refund me until they receive the claim form.

You would think the phone calls and emails alone would generate a claim on their end, but they leave it up to you so that you get frustrated and let them keep your money while getting no product.

Ever since Guthy-Renker took over ProActiv, their lost all customer service. It's like having FAKE CUSTOMER SERVICE, and not really doing anything for their customers that may have an issue or complaint.

They leave all the work up to the customer to fix the situation, while all they do is auto-generate emails back to you like this... (see below)

Ok as much as any company would love to be the best they can to provide excellent customer service, they cant just do everything you expect to make you happy. If they tell you you to fill out an affidavit form, i find it pretty reazonable.

If you had your own company, would you just be giving out products away to anyone who would tell you that they didn´t recieve their products?

OF COURSE NOT. So just fill out the *** thing and stop complaininting about it.
